Thought about time to upload some photos of the new van. These were taken last weekend at Nagambie lakes resort with a Sunday morning frost and 1 deg. We will be getting electric blankets :o . Nagambie was only our 2nd trip with taking delivery in March where we left the yard to stay at the foreshore at Rye......and what a contrast as the 1st trip was in our heatwave and the A/C got flogged and this trip flogged again for heating. So whilst the A/C unit works great we have only had the solar regulator stop working but with a quick express post replacement from the dealer we were IMG_0016.jpg IMG_0009.jpg IMG_0013.jpg back on track. As far as the 16.49-4 layout we love it as it makes good use of space with young kids. The tow vehicle is a FG XR6 which tows well using a 600lb WDH.

cheers sledge

Sounds like a chilly trip mate, thanks for sharing your travels.

I actually dont mind the colder trips and watch as the morning sun melts away the frost

Hi Sledge. There are worse places than Nagambie Lakes to wake up to a frost.
May you have many great family adventures in your new Expanda (and share them with us).

Electric blankets, mmmmmm, toasty warm!
As well as the electric blankets on the beds, you can also get the electric throw blankets to have on top too. I think they sell them at Big W, plus heaps online.

Thanks Guys

Yeah we dont mind camping in chilly winter too but this time werent prepared for it. I was eyeing up another expanda across the camping ground that had made up clear plastic privacy screens and was wondering how much warmer it was inside. The only negative I noticed in the morning was a large amount of condensation, so not sure whether the benefits outweigh this dampness....

When we were at Crescent Head a couple weeks ago the night time temp was dropping to 8. But the bed ends were comfortably warm, no chill coming off the internal canvas at all. Have to give credit to our Holiday Annexes canvas bed fly's for that!

Thanks for sharing sledge. We have been caught out a few times over the years by unseasonable cold. I love the light in the pics, especially the second one. Looks like nice autumn weather!

Yeah the weather was a next to perfect autumn few days with cool evenings and beautiful sunny days. The photos were taken with an old cracked screen iphone 4 :)

Hi sledge, glad your enjoying your new van! It's a good idea to rope your awning down as well mate, the last thing you want is it to end up on your roof...... :censored:

Cheers.

Listen to Burnsy's advice. Anchoring your awning takes minimum of gear and only a few minutes. A sudden strong wind gust can play havoc.

Sitting at Lennox head at the moment, rain has been belting down on and off all day, wind gusting something shocking. Have the awning tied down and anti flap bars fitted. While it is noisy and van is shaking in the wind, the awning is holding well, thoroughly recommend tying it down.

Woke today with wind still gusting, clouds building. Walked about 3Km north on the beach and back after breakfast with winds dropping and clouds disappearing. Ended up a fine day and very calm now Wonderful. :biggrin1:

Jealous as. Blow away the cobwebs and walk off breakfast. Enjoy.
