I think someone on here found the pedder part number to save going through jayco. Possibly in a thread about upgrading the suspension to air or something?

@Crusty181 found that they are the same shocks as a nissan pathfinder R51 rear shocks
Pedders refused to offer any assistance, and no-one else offered much more. I did a unit size, extension and compression comparison search and found 2005 R51 Pathfinder rear shocks matched almost perfectly. Load wise the rear of a Pathfinder was close enough to half the loaded 3t dual axleJayco, so the R51 shocks are very well suited. I approached Dobinsons and they confirmed the substitution suitability. I used the Dobinson, but most shock brands have R51 replacements so the range of brands, quality and budget is well catered for.

Thats why most don't bother with a dealer, long wait and overpriced usually .....often the delay is because they freight in bulk as its cheaper so you have to wait till the box gets filled before its sent .................. I would be going for the recomendation of @Crusty181 myself, certainly tried and proven ..... Pathfinder R51 rear shocks available from the the leading makers, Bilstein, BlueMax, OME .............

I have fitted a pair of tuff dog 41 mm foam cell shocks to my van , seems ok time will tell , also still waiting for my pedders from my local jayco dealer . I have just sent a email to jayco head office about the shocks , we will see if they respond .

Have a good look over the shock to see if you can ID the Why .................... If the ones on one side have failed then it could be bump stops are shot, a shockie will fail if they often go to full compression or full extenstion, mostly over compression due to bump stops flogged out or wrong size shock fitted, check the shockie mounts that they are in line, also that the swinging arm bushes are in good shape, if the shock is not operating inline the shaft will wear the seal eventually.....
Measure the shocks to make sure the extension and compression distance is greater than the swinging arm movement, don't assume the manufacturer got it right with parts.

Now the sons van has the same issue both shocks that failed are drivers side ? we will get some new
tough dogs fitted asap .
strange ? you would expect the passenger side to cop more of a hiding than the driver side, coming off the tar into the dirt etc. unless the vans have a common load imbalance something that i can not comment on . is it possible the vans are configured to create a drive side load imbalance, old horse float rule put the heavy horse on the drivers side , light load goes to the gravel
