After having a Stone Stomper on our Swan I fitted up one to our Expanda, many thanks to Christian from Stone Stomper for 1st Class service.

How does it attache to the towball?

There's a couple of options for fitting to car, one goes under towball though in my case it bolts around the shank, only take one bolt to remove. I'll add a pic of it tomorrow.

Basically going from edge to edge going under the A-Frame, and from the front cross bar to the hitch

I have just finished fitting a stonestomper and am already impressed by it. I would recommend them to everyone even if gravel trips are not planned.
