Stumbled across this forum today so thought I would join. Even tho we dont have an expanda we do have a 2012 Discovery OB that we are thinking of trading for a new model Journey OB. Going to look at one on saturday and may even contemplate the single bed option. It all boils down to the bedding as I know the Journeys suffer in bed length but we shall see.

Anyway heres our rig.

Cheers

welcome to the forum @blackstump

lots of great people on here with a passion for their Vans and camping in general

although called ExpandasDownunder, we have all the Jayco range, as well as many other different brands, as we view the love of Vanning and getting out there as being more important than brand loyalty

Thanks all for the welcome. Found some slop at the Grampians getting to camp after some heavy rain. Turns out it kept raining and washed most of it off. :rain:

Hi and welcome @blackstump
We have single beds in our 2015 Journey .They are longer than the double and in my opinion much more comfortable than the double.
We were too squishy in the double .(Tall with a little meat on our bones).;)

Welcome @blackstump, this forum is a friendly place. We have the OB journey with single beds and love it to bits. We reckon the extra space between the beds is great and having cupboards over the beds along the side provides a bit more storage, the single wardrobe is easier to convert to shelves and not having to climb on the bed to raise and lower the roof makes it much easier to operate.
The two beds are slightly different in size, by about 100 mm, but I find it very comfortable for sleeping as does Mrs CR. Feel free to ask any questions about the van.
