Is that what the "44" means @bigcol ????
Basically, yes. Check out the numbers with a length converter app and you will see they match up pretty closely.
A 14' van is actually 14' 5" or 4.4m. I measured mine to check. If you convert the numbers for the other vans you will find the 16' van is 4.9m etc..... I could be wrong but all the numbers seem to check out. Maybe a Jayco person can confirm or otherwise...

curiouser and curiouser

I have tried to measure my van
front of van to back of van
front of van to bumper
inside front floor to rear floor
from where the opening is for the front bed (so it includes the cupboard underneath) to same at the back

I cannot get any measurement close to either 16' or 4.9m

cannot remember the exact figures - as I did that 18 months ago when I first got the Van to try and work out how they measure them

next weekend I feel the tape measure will be used......................

A 16' van is a fairly arbitrary measurement. Vans from most manufacturers classed as 16' can vary quite significantly as some include the 'boot', some don't. Usually it's the length of the main body but even that fluctuates from maker to maker and model to model.

I was hoping you would tell me where to measure from and to

so I could get it right (maybe.....)

forgot to do it again this arvo while I was out there playing with the Van

Caravans are like boats..... Different manufacturers measure them differently.
Some caravans are internal measurement and others are external!!!!!

Some boats are measured at water level and others are overall length!
