I would just like it to be publicly known that I reserve the right any little yap yap dog that runs at me barking, over your caravan. If you can not keep it on a lead I accept no resonsibility for vetinary bills (or burial costs).

Their behaviour is threatening, and if a human behaved the same way they could be charged with assault without actually coming into contact. The day your dog actually bites me (or my kids) what are you going to do? Say sorry and think everything is okay?

Buy a lead and use it...........

As for the barking, I reckon your voice telling your dog to be quiet is more annoyong than the dog......

Three dogs in two days has got me kickin.........

And I reserve the right to do same for uncontrolled kidlets!

We've been amazed by the number of them who've been given free licence to roam in camping areas...we found some in our van, in our annexe and playing under the van itself.

Some parents have given the little darlings UHF radios so they they can constantly call to ask where they are and the radios squark loudly while the kids are under our van.

I'm reasonable most times.....but not at those times!

not sure about the rest of Australia, but in WA
it is a $20,000.00 fine for having your Dog NOT on a lead in Public

thankfully, my little Yap Yap only barks when you enter the area of my Van & Car - to let me know to protect her..............
rest of the time, she just looks and glares -

I know what you mean,
this one time (at band camp) these little Cretans kept running over my water hose (its a fold flat one) with their bike - behind my Van
asked them to stop
mother tells me, "leave them along, they are only kids"
ok, I take no responsibility then
"whats that supposed to mean.........????"
just then, they did it again, and poor old mum got covered in water from the hose coming off the tap..................
\ look what you've done, got me all soaked..........."

ummmm, what about my hose.................???

(I say shoot them, but your not allowed too....................)

Loved it!

:abnormal::05.18-flustered::attention:

I just can't understand why some parents think it's everyone else responsibility to look after their kids, then complain if you try to keep the little darlings away from your possessions or personal space.

It seems to be worse in the camping experience but, with others, it adds to the camping experience when the kids are great and well behaved.

In the above experience, I ended up taking the kids back to the parents as they were far too young to be unsupervised, and were also digging caves in a sand dune, but the parents couldn't give a damn and had a go at me!

They were liberally lubricated at the time.

don't mention pools and kids and you look around no parents.
Not overly fond of yapping dogs and we try to control our 4 monsters the best we can.
they stay inside once they get up until a reasonable hour as morning time for them is sun up..
There is a fine line between hover dad versus some freedom for the kids to go to playground and back as a group.
Although if my kids do wrong they get in trouble

Kids will be kids (and I prefer to hear them running around laughing and having fun as it makes me remember the fun I had when I was in caravan parks as a kid)
Dog will be dogs (fluffy little overgrown rats yap it's part of life)

Noise is only annoying if you let it be, put a different perspective on the noise and it can be enjoyable (think of crickets)

I've got absolutely no problem with kids....just to set the record straight!

It's great to see kids being natural and enjoying themselves and away from screens! And kits naturally make a noise and the sounds of glee when they learn something new is great to hear.

My issue is with kids who are left to get into what I consider dangerous situations or left to encroach on other peoples' space with absolutely no supervision....as in the situations I described. Some of them were as young as three and were having a marvellous time digging a cave into a sand dune.....and the parents were nearby and ignored it...

If only we were all able to be perfect!

Whilst I agree completely regrading the kids, the dogs give me the when they carry on, (and a have my own Red Cattle dog patrolling the back yard) if you plan to camp around people/public, get them on a lead and keep them there, if they come near just once then I tell the owner to sort the dog or move on....I have young kids who I supervise like a parent should, and my thoughts are the same for dog owners...

My Daughter, 4, was half arsed bitten by a yap yap dog, when walking past a van recently, the dog charged out from under the van or in the annex, who knows where it was hiding, and I hit the roof, very close to assaulting the said individual...get them on a lead and keep them there is my view....I was camped in a showground camp recently, with heaps of space and the only dog owner put a cage outside his van so the dog had room, but couldn't tear off....that's how it should be....

Im not against dogs, ive had them my whole life near on....just don't like being camped around them when there wondering around unsupervised...

With a couple of recent Threads praising this Forum, this Thread has now gone overboard in undoing those good views and is in my opinion a disgrace. The suggestions of cruelty to animals has passed any level of reasonable behaviour. There's other caravan Forums where those views are where it belongs. Dissappointment doesn't even start to express how I feel.

I feel like saying goodbye, permanently.
