We were due to take delivery of our brand new 17.56-1 in the next couple of weeks. The dealership called today to say that the upgraded suspension (independent) that is standard in all new models was not done and that they would give us a $1500.00 discount. One of the reasons that we went brand new is that we will be selling the van at the end of our big trip and felt that the upgrade in suspension of 2014 models would make it easier to sell. If we have to wait for a new van to be built it will be getting very close to the date of our departure.
Very frustrated that it was on the manufacturing line for the last 3 months and it has not been picked up or communicated to us until now.

What would you do?

The dealer has not offered anything other than discount. I have just called them to say that the reason we ordered new was for the upgrade in suspension and how quick could they turn one around. I have not heard from them yet but I am anticipating mid May, we are leaving on the 29th of May. So not much time to run it in or do any modifications. Think we are going to be stuck with a van that we did not order which is frustrating.

This is very frustrating. Sorry to hear about it happening to you!
Question is, is $1500 enough to cover your 'loss' when selling? Probably not, as yours will be the only 2014 model without the suspension (wont it?).
I'm cranky just thinking about it.
I'm not sure what you should do. I reckon make it very clear that you want the suspension and you want the van before your departure date, and they just need to make it happen. Can they retrofit it?
Otherwise, work out how much $$$ it is worth to you and go from there.

My opinion is that Jayco are VERY good at honouring warranty etc and generally looking after their customers. I'm sure, if you speak to the right person, that Jayco will do everything they can to fix the problem.

Unfortunately these things happen and the best thing to do is stay positive, decide on your best outcome and work towards it.
Let us know how you go.

that sucks.. when did you sign off paperwork?
So it was standard with upgrade suspension? or outback that they did not put the new suspension on.
If outback and 2014 with old suspension yes probably hurt you on re-sale.
You think they be able to fit it now :(

We signed off the paper work at the start of December. The upgrade in suspension is now standard with the outback models so we would be one of only a handful of 2014s with the old suspension.
Dealership has called to say we could get it in the first week of April. We are just weighing up if we have enough time to do the Kms /service and alterations before we go and how much it will cost us off the sale price if we keep the one that they already have.

I would get the 2014 in April, but want it at the original price as they failed to provide what was agreed upon with the original contract.

You can always get the service and any warrantee work down whilst on your trip, that is one bonus with the jayco national dealership.

Just my 2 cents worth.
