On our way home from Broken Hill stopped at a great new caravan park at Wilcannia called Warrawong on the Darling. It's about 3 kms east of Wilcannie offers caravan sites with fantastic amenities block or there is bush camping along the banks of the Darling River. The caravan sites overlook a billabong and are fully grassed with a great camp kitchen overlooking the billabong

Looks good. Wilcannia has usually had a bad wrap so if this is as good as it sounds then a stop there would be worthwhile.

If you're out that way, look in on Kalara Station near Tilpa.

When you drive through Wilcannia, you know whats wrong with it. Sad to see a town die, but all shops boarded up and poor locals must be doing it hard.

and it used to be such an important stop on the Darling, its full of historic building as well and should be a popular place to visit but unfortunately it isn't
