Im sure lots of people are aware of this app which is free for 15 days then only $2.99 but for those who arent its got to be one of the best apps out there, dare I say like having Camps7 on your phone or tablet inbetween this forum and the app so much is covered,its so great .

Agreed. In fact for the places I've free camped, wiki has actually provided much more information. The user reviews are also helpfull.

Hi Soaring ,yes it was the free camp section that interst me the most and the ability to add filters as well , with that app and this forum theres so much information out there especially for new campers such as myself .

I downloaded it a few days ago and it looks extremely good. Love the filters too. Makes it nice and easy to find what I'm looking for.

Hi Walks I tride it free for 5 days and then bought it( the only app that I have ever bought lol) and can't wait to go away to add my 2 cents worth in the coment section and even a few pics

I went and scoped one location out in Berwick as it had 5 stars is within 30 mins of home and allowed dogs. I wanted to take the Van there on the first night I got it but I was a little dissapointed when i went there. Nothing much around at all, just open space and football ovals. Has all toilets and showers but I will be self contained. I hope the other 5 star camp sites are better.

Love this app, we have used it throughout Victoria and NSW and plan on using it for QLD over Xmas period, all for free camping with the pooch. we have been both surprise and disappoint with sites compared to their comments, but as campers we all enjoy, dislike and expect different things in our camps, photo of spots are a great indication of what the camp is like, so photos photos photos. I was previously told by a fellow camper that some will give bad reviews to keep spots quite, not sure what to think about though that, would like to think fellow campers wouldn't pull that stunt. Give this app a go can't speak highly enough about it a+++

you would like to think you could trust most people ( specially fellow campers ) I plan to use it in conjunction with camps7 book and this forum it gives you a lot of options as to where to go ,I also like the fact you can download the Off Line contents so u don't need internet to use it while away .

we bought ours at Anconda in Frankston for $50 but Im sure you could find it cheaper on Ebay or one of the other online sites.

I use a combination of wiki camps and trip advisor. I've found so far on our 3 month trip that there is not enough comments on wiki camps to totally rely on it. It will get better as more users add to it. Trip advisor tends to have a lot more reviews at the moment. This is mainly in relation to caravan parks as trip advisor doesn't hae a lot of free camps listed.

If your going to get Camps 7 spend a bit extra and get the Camps 7 with the camp snaps in it, we did and find it very handy to see if the camp looks suitable for your needs etc.

Not cheap but it pays for itself after using it for a couple of nights of free camping. We use it as our road atlas too.

I already got the standard spiral wound book and I will use it as a road atlas along with wikicamps which seems ok. Lists the sites suitable to take my dog which is good too.

If anyone is interested, I just spotted the latest BCF catalogue & see that they have 20% off the Camps7 Hema maps range at present, including the edition with camp snaps.

I just downloaded the app and it looks great. I really like the map feature where you can easily see all the parks around the area you want to visit. The more people who use it, the better it will be, so I'll go ahead and purchase. I'm sure it will come in really handy.
