Leaving Melbourne on the 26th of June to head to QLD. Need to be in Sunshine coast by 2nd of July then return home the following weekend.
Want to head up the coast road from Sydney with a couple of stops at caravan parks right on the beach, or very close to. Also going to Hervey Bay for a few nights in the second week and no idea which park to use?
Any suggestions welcome.

Hi Stuart, If you are looking at a night up the top of NSW can recommend Hasting Point Holiday Park - it is an "Old" style Caravan Park with nothing more than an amenities block & a kitchen station, backs onto the river & is across the road from the Beach.
If you are after something a bit flasher there is Big 4 just up the road - but i have never stayed there so i dont know what it is like

@1DayIll we are heading up that way starting from central coast and our first stop will be Darlington point just out of Coffs, then Tallebudgera. On way home stopping at Big 4 Hastings point and last stop on way home will be Big 4 Bonny hills.

Have not been to any of these before but research and suggestions from the forum and a good look at wikicamps helped a lot. If you don't have wikicamps I thinks it's a must have for planning.

We recently spent 3 weeks from Sydney to Noosa so I'll give you my top picks. Jimmy's Beach CP at Hawk's Nest on the north side of Nelson's bay. If you have kids try Emerald Beach just north of Coffs Harbour. The facilities are second to none, it has heaps to keep the kids entertained, massage for your wife and is right on a beautiful beach with good surf and fishing. Our whole family agreed that this was the best park we stayed at along the coast. Broken Head CP. Noosa River CP although you generally need to book well in advance there.
