Hi guys

I know I'm leaving in a bit late but heading to Port Stevens mid January still some site available. Just not sure where to book we are a young family and thinking close to the beach. But there seems to be a lot of nice caravan parks in port Stevens and not sure which one to book. I'm looking at Shoal Bay caravan park and Fingal Bay caravan park. Just not sure which one. Any feed back will be great and also what do people think of the Big 4s in the area as well. Thanks again

One Mile Beach holiday park (Anna Bay) is also right on the Beach (ocean) and pretty good for facilities kids or for quiet sheltered beach Koala Shore at Lemon Tree passage though a little out of the way. Halifax Park has beach access and walk to town.

not too sure about east coast, but I know this way, the Big4's are slightly dearer than the rest - < $5 per person at some places
but they do have lots for little kids to do
bouncy pillows and the like..........

Good list @Bushman.

One Mile has a good resort style pool and for a surf beach is pretty good for little people. A walk around the point and you can drop your pants. Halifax is on the point with surf beach to the rear and bay beach at the boatramp to the front. Bay beach really good for kids, surf beach deep drop off with powerful beach dumpers. Fingal Bay is nice, nice pool area. Theres some others over the other side of the bay round Hawks Nest too

I haven't actually stayed at either the Shoal Bay or Fingal Bay Parks, but have been in the area during peak times (mate has a house there).

With Shoal Bay Caravan Park the road between the park and the beach is really busy and depending on the age of your kids you'll have to keep an eye on them when crossing.

Down at Fingal Bay still have to cross the road but it ain't as busy.

Do you think Fingal bay is to much of a big caravan park to make a decision on going there cause there's pool. Looking on the site map looks like there is a Couple hundred sites and the pool could get over crowded any thoughts.
Thanks

Most of those sites are onsite vans. There are quiet limited sites for blow in tourists, they have converted 2 streets of van sites to flashy cabins. We were there for a week over xmas holidays and found the pool area sparse on users, partly because onsite holidayers tend not to use the pool area and partly because theres a great beach directly opposite. The high concentration of onsite van actually keeps the noise down too ....

We have regularly had holidays at Fingal Bay great area and quiet although we have not stayed at the park it seems to be rather full. Shoal Bay has the downfall of being on the main road through town so is rather noisy, on the up side the beach is just across the road. One other park that is well worth looking into and is nicely set up and located which I have personally stayed in is Halifax Holiday Park in Nelsons Bay, You have beach access from both sides of the park, and just a short walk to the NB Marina.

Soldiers Point is popular, but for location I would choose Fingal Beach or one Mile , or Middle Rock only because I like to swim in the surf then cool off in a pool later.
