What is the best engine oil for the Land cruiser?

Hi all,

I am sure someone on in the forum must have covered this before, but I was wondering if anyone knows what is the best oil or recommended oil for the (4D4) Diesel engine?

I heard 5W 30 (fully Synthetic) is the way to go. Does anyone know if there is a good brand which is more suited for the Land Cruiser diesel engine?

We run Penrite and Western oil full synthetic in our workshop on all diesel / petrol 4 x 4s and have never had a problem

Hi, do you mean D4D ? I use HPR DIESEL 5 5W-40 Semi syn or magnatec diesel. Usually get from supercheap or repco when they have a special.. Comes in 10l bottles.

Catrol Magnatec diesel 15w40 for me, buy it when it's on special, change it every 5,000k. 220,000k's and still as strong as new.
