On our big trip we used all the major fuel outlets and found caltex diesel to be the best with better fuel economy and more power. Thought I would share
Also averaged for 11,000km 19 litres per 100km and tried our best to stick to the speed limit.

Interesting..... So does that mean every time you filled up your tank was completely empty? I would have thought you would have at least had left over fuel from the previous stop in the bottom of the tank which would have skewed the results.

I only use BP unless nothing else is available (ie a remote roadhouse type stop and I have no choice but to fill).

Like Caltex the Ultimate Diesel also has the cleaner additives etc.....but unfortunately very few actually sell it (I think my closest one is Victor Harbor in SA) so generally stuff with std diesel

Yes the majority of times we filled the tank had around 30 litres left in the tank. We couldn't feel any difference with all other fuels except caltex. Even the misses noticed the power difference going up hills with the caltex. The fuel results are always hard to measure with different terrain, wind etc but when we had the caltex the results were about 2 litres per hundred compared with other fuels. I have always used shell or bp but never caltex but will be using caltex from now on.
