It was a wet three days at Tooloom Falls. We were all lying down having a nanny nap. I was peering out through the privacy screen at my fire. A family from a tent the size of a tennis court came past with timber that they had collected from the bottom of the falls. My pile of timber was looking pretty healthy considering a landowner saw me with the chainsaw on the side of the road and invited me into her property to clear a tree. I'd spent an hour or so splitting what I'd cut so I had a nice stack for the next couple days.

One of the boys about 14 came back past my wood pile. Stood there. Looked around to see if anyone was watching. Then bent down to pick up a piece of timber.

Question 1
As I was watching him did I say:
a) Take all you want I have plenty.
b) Make sure you only take one or two pieces.
c) I wouldn't do that if I was you. or
d) I'm loading the shotgun so you better be quick.

Question 2
The kids dad said back to me:
a) Thanks, we'll take it all.
b) Naughty boy, never do that again.
c) You've got more than you know what to do with.
d) Make sure you aim between the eyes.

I'd have warned him about getting splinters.

And lots of other things such as rashes, herpes and similar as your wood was special.

And a kick in the backside if I saw him pinch any.
