Evening all, thought I would start a thread on 'what's on the horizon' in terms of trips. My calendar is looking fairly full at the moment. We ( the 5yo and I) are off to Pambula for Melbourne cup week, then I have just (tonight) booked another four days down there in December the weekend that school finishes up here, at this stage booked for two but could become 5. We are off to Moruya for 5 nights just after Christmas, then (at this stage a few weeks at home), with a trip up to sunny sawtell (coffs harbour), for about 10 days late jan. I've been looking at the thread on the VIC get together at sheepyards, and that too is a free weekend, but worried about having a touring van not OB, and the fact the other half thinks I'm never home (I'll of been golfing in Forbes the weekend before) - But.............

The secret to all this travel, is I'm now coming toward the end of 13mths leave I took to look after the youngest whilst in pre-school.... Bron very keen for me to go back to work given the purchases this year ( caravan, upgrade car etc etc).

Look forward to seeing people's plans. Harv

We generally get away every second weekend.
This weekend we are off to Yea CP. For cup weekend we are thinking of on the shorefront camping area in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula. And this year we wake up on Christmas Day in the caravan down at Crib Point also at the end of Morninton Peninsula.

Given our van is only a few months old (in our ownership) we have booked up the next few warmer months also. Starting November for a two nighter without the rug rats down to Bowral for A Day on the Green concert, post Xmas at seven mile beach, feb for a week at umina, then march and Easter at port Stephens. Maybe a trip to two after that down the coast to kiama or other before the winter hibernation.....:(

Sounds like you have been busy and getting the most out of your holiday!

Sheep yard sounds to be a good trip and I think its both touring / outback friendly as long as its not to much rain....

Are you going to Sheep yard for the vic meet?

Hey expanda.
The kids have a swag of activities for that weekend that I need to be around for.
I was sooo bummed when I saw the dates. Was really wanting to put some faces to the people.

Hanging out for the up coming Vic High Country meet, I may even squeeze in a weekend somewhere before and some others before Christmas.

Late January is Batemans Bays about 10 nights, after that who knows, no real definate plans for Easter but a bigger trip later in the year around September/October. But definately noumours weekend in between.

We'll do a shake down trip for a weekend before Xmas at Jervis Bay or Murramurang Nat Park ... then visiting some of my all time fave spots to christen the new van:

a week is booked at Cylinder Beach on N Stradbroke Island from the 19th-26 January, then a few nights at the beachfront park at Mooloolabah, then (hopefully) a couple of nights in the Hunter Valley to take in the "Day on the Green" concert. Might stop at Clarke's Beach at Byron on the way through too if we can get in.

We're aiming for 50 nights in the van in 2013 so will be looking out for suggestions!!

Impatiently waiting for Melbourne Cup 4-day weekend when we are going to Balmoral (Vic) where my Dad grew up. Going to tidy up family graves and take a few pics for Dad. Haven't been back there for nearly 40 years, sad to admit.
Getting axles under slung on 21 Nov so might sneak in an overnighter or two in Geelong or somewhere nearby.
Week before Xmas we take Expanda down to Barwon Heads for first time for 6 weeks of unpowered camping on spit between Barwon River and Ocean. Magic spot. Looking forward to showing her off once I get her into our sloping campsite.
Then it's up to Albury for (Vic) Labour Day Long Weekend, and then off to Murray Bridge for Easter.
Now modifying mods so next getaway can't come soon enough.

no plans for cup weekend - both and missus have to go to school on the Monday (3 to learn, one to teach)
New years we'll head up to bathurst/Newcastle/lakes area.
Starting to plan a central aust trip around easter
and throwing around a few ideas for later on - high country, or outback nsw.

Weekender trips never seem to happen - usually for me always working.........
edit: vic meet and great is looking good, but I won't believe it till I'm there
