Oh well travelled ones,

I'm probably looking at a run out west in the new year that will necessitate stops in the likes of St George, Cunamulla, Tambo, Emerald, Middlemount, Yepoon then snake our way back down the east coast to Brissie.
I'm all over the east coast leg of the trip but was after some advice on the western leg (which I call everything before Yeppoon). Any recommendations for must see and dos? Things to avoid?

I want to check out both those gorges but on this trip I've gotta stick relatively close to the firm route (until I hit Yeppoon anyway). Just want to make sure I don't miss anything I shouldn't. Would hate to spend the night in Cunnamulla only to find out later that I should have taken some time to check out some magical 8th wonder of the world

Understand you have a set route.... But if your tempted to stray.....
Nindigully definitely.
Carnarvon Gorge
Burke if you venture south
Lightening Ridge was fabulous and lots to explore.
Longreach, Winton and the dinosaur trail is great. Lark Quarry worthwhile.
Superb country out west. It's all worth it really. The space is awesome.

Thanks gents. I'll give the pub a look as it's only a 30min detour. There may be a Longreach trip later in the year so would be real keen to do the dinosaur trail.
