Everything packed and ready. Take off tomorrow morning for a 2 week adventure. Camp our way to Woomera (1 or 2 nights), catch up with my oldies and a few mates I used to work with (couple of days). Head north around to the Flinders (6 or so nights through here) and then home. Not sure if I will have computer access! Will be hard leaving this site alone....(like going cold turkey!!)
See (or shall I say write) to you in the next scene!....... I will try a trip report. First time for everything.

@TACA we keep trip journal for all the trips we do.Anyone can write in it their experience had while away. Makes nice reading past entries and in case you revisit same place, you can refer back too.Have a great safe trip.

@17triton have returned to work myself this time last year for a couple of shifts, know the feeling. Drive safe thinking about the family.

Cheers Pace.

So Woomera was a great spot to see the lunar eclipse! I'm not much of a photographer so excuse the photos

Had a BBQ at Mum and Dads on the last night before heading North. We had a very interesting visitor. He was not afraid to pop in.

The next morning we headed for Olympic dam to top up on fuel and air down. Borefield road was surprisingly very good (was open to 4wd). Stopped off and had a look at the arid recovery project. Turned left on the Oodnadatta track, dropped into lake eyre south and then set up camp at Curdimurka, an old rail siding/station. Headed further up the track to have a look at a few springs and then returned to camp. No need for a fire this night. Flies were bloody terrible (I had forgotten how bad they can be). Sunrise the following morning was sensational.

Next morning we headed back towards Maree looking to camp somewhere around Leigh Creek. Dad says on the radio 'let me know when you see the big puppy'. What is he going on about???? Then this appears!

This little place was magic, and a great stop off for the kids to have a walk around the many sculptures. I thinks it's great that in the middle of nowhere, someone can make this stuff and put on display for all to see....

Stopped over in Maree for a cuppa and a quick look around, and then headed for Farina ruins. Great stop off for lunch.
History certainly lives on!!!! P1230973.JPG

Was given a tip to push down past Leigh Creek to camp at Beltana Station. Great spot, ended up staying 2 nights here. We did a bit of 4wding around the station. Found a leaking trough, so called them on the UHF and they were more than happy for us to have a go at fixing it.
P1240064.JPG Brought back some memories from our property! Though I could only slow the leak.
Showers here I thought were simply bloody awesome. Tin shed with no roof. To be continued............................

Well the Easter bunny found us and the kids chewed on chocolate as we packed up. Driving down to Rawnsley Park, we could really start seeing the change in the landscape. Different colours coming of the cliff faces were like something you would only come across in an art gallery.

After lunch at the Blinman pub, we headed down to Rawnsly park and set up for a couple of nights.
After a big breaky,P1240140.JPG the walk up to one of the lookouts at Wilpena pound was simply stunning.
