Time to use the expertise on the site.

Jayco in their infinite wisdom used two incredibly small tack welds to hold the jockey wheel mount. Inevitably the top one has broken and the jockey wheel looks like a dogs hind leg and is dangerous. I currently have Big Brenda propped up on paving bricks. Not a good sight.

I could book her in for warranty, but it takes two months in WA to get warranty issues sorted and it is painful dragging the van across town for what is only a 5 minute job. My neighbour has a MIG welder and has offered to fix it for me and I can just spray with cold galv after he puts a better weld on there and straightens everything up. My limited knowledge of welding tells me that the battery needs to be disconnected to prevent damage during the process, but my daft question of the week is do I need to do anything special with the solar panel wiring,or does disconnecting battery terminals sort out the situation and stop me frying any electronics in the van?

All advice gratefully received.........
