G'day all,

I went onto BBQ's Galore yesterday to grab a Weber Q in anticipation of picking up the new van this Thursday! The guy promptly talked me out of a weber Q (200) and into a 'Ziggy'. http://zieglerbrown.com

I haven't used it yet and the guy said that i can take it home, cook on it, and if i'm not happy i can go back and swap it for a weber. Its too bloody cold to stand outside cooking a BBQ here at the moment so i'm just wondering if anyone else has tried one or has one (Ziggy that is)

Some info for those interested....

  • Same price as a weber Q 200 - $400
  • Ziggy has a high lid with a thermometer
  • The grill plate is in two pieces and you can purchase a solid plate that interchanges with the grill $50
  • it has 2 burners but they are left and right, not inner and outer so you can cook things at different temps or have one side off to keep the bacon warm while the eggs are still cooking!!! :biggrin-26:
  • It reaches 200 degrees in about 5 minutes (they had a demo which showed this off)
  • You can cook with lid open, apparently you shouldn't do this with the weber??:noidea:

Looks interesting. I definitely like the idea of 2 burners. Is it as solidly made as the weber? Is the lid nice and heavy?

Made in China I assume?

The lid seems fine, not sure if its as thick but it feels quite solid. yeah the 2 burners and the replacement solid plate were the deal winners for me. Its funny because ive dreamed of having a weber q for years, just needed an excuse to buy one! I finally had an excuse and i didn't get one!!

Yep made in China!
