Over the years have had about 6 Jayco's. Sold o ur sterling to buy a Swan.
Planning on more national park and Bush camping up the East Coast. Down scaled a bit to much so have the Swan on the market and have a Expanda 14.44-4 on order for delivery on 2014. A bit more comfort and less set up for over nighting.
Have gone for the following options among others.
Roof aircon
ESC
100AH battery
Solar provision
Wyngard
TV bracket
Extra gas bottle
External gas bayonet
150l frig
Rear mounted spare

Some of the new 2014 changes are looking interesting and think we will end up with a pretty good rig.

Roll on 2014

Currently towing with a Disco 4 2.7 diesel.
Part of the reason for going to the14.4.4 and spending time on minimising the ball wieght as that am trading in on a Kia Sorento 2.2 cdi. Same torque but more power than the Disco and some 700k lighter. Only has a 2000k and 150k ball wieght limit.
Tried towing my Swan with the same car and was not a problem. 129kg ball wieght.

Welcome to the forum & great to see another nicely kitted out 14.44-4, almost identical specs to mine :)

But I have to say you will want to be very careful with your payload, I had mine weighed with what I thought was only a light load & it came in with 200kg on the ball & 2T ATM, the main difference between our rigs is, I have a drawbar mounted spare + 30kg compared to yours, but on the plus side for me I had both water tanks filled which would should neutralise the weight gain on the ball, the standard tank is mounted in front of the axle.

I just read my compliance plate & it's 157kg empty

So be very careful with the way you load the van if you need to stay under 150kg.

So what are the new changes for 2014? Interested to know if they are changing the mattresses etc.

The way I read the list of changes for the 2014 release is that the bed end is higher and the mattress zip is in the middle. Not having owned an expanda before I am not sure how this change might work.

We had a foam mattress made up with a split in the middle. It is much better because you don't tend to sleep on the seam.
I wonder if jayco intend on removing the different heights in the fold out bed sections to allow for a single height mattress.
