Thanks @Herbertclan and mine is about 4 years old.....
The serial number of mine is 1002**** and the recall serial numbers start at 63900001 so guessing the recall is for newer models?

Hey guy, just a heads up on this issue. I have the Waco cf-40 which is 3 years old and it had this exact problem. The first time we used it, the control panel melted. So while they are saying it is a small number of recently made units, this has definitely happened before. They did fix the issue however they also denied any knowledge of it being an issue at the time.

I suspect...but could very well be wrong...that it's related to the knockoffs that are sold as Kings.

They've had similar problems I hear.

Mine is 12 years old and the only issue mine has had is the poly fuse problem. Stripped mine down a few weeks back and fitted a new poly fuse and all looks to be good.

Ps, had to buy a pack of 5 poly fuses (9 amp) if any body local needs one flick me a message and you can have one.
