Universal Remote Control app

Hi....have recently spent hours trying to get a pile of old dvd recorders, tvs, etc operational. The remotes are either lost or dead so I was considering buying a universal remote control....then I had a light bulb moment and found an app.

Has anyone used the SURE app?

(I'm probably the only one who doesn't think in terms of apps...I must officially be a dinasaur )

Samsung S6 had one but S7 has no IR eye.

You'll need a wifi to infrared box for it to work, but it looks like a good idea

I guess what I really need to find out is whether it will work on older gear....and my phone is a samsung so it could be more complicated than I thought.

It might just go into the 'too hard' basket.

(I tend to go off apps if i can't get them to work easily)

Have a look at Orvibo WiFi-IR Remote Control Magic Cube Smart Life Many Controllers To One G6M9.

There are a few others on eBay as well that come with the box and their own app.

Should work with android
