Hello everyone. As you may have read we have less than a week before we place our order for our new 16.49.4. As it is an on road version I was after some advice on what you experienced guys in Expanda land think of under slinging the axle at construction stage as we are not after serious off road capability but occasionally will be entering some bush camp sites that have ruts. We did this with our Flamingo ST and our WDH dragged on the rise in between the ruts and popped off. Was after any thoughts or advice at all but in particular from people that have 2wd cars towing Expandas especially if they have an under slung axle as we will be towing with a Falcon wagon.

Don't know about towing with the 2wd in your case the Falcon, but I would definately go with the underslung simply for better clearance as Jayco's standard touring model do tend to sit low. even some park and servo driveways can be an issue at times. You may just have to turn your hitch over to get the level right.

Yep, as Burnsy says go underslung and reverse the tongue on your hitch. You can even add a trailer mate coupling guide (about$60) for an extra few mm, just use a long shank towball. Consider suspension tweek (maybe adjustable shocks or airbags) for the Falcon if you need more). If you have the extended draw bar give some thought to moving the spare if it's hung under the frame (an easy mod). Exciting milestone coming up....then the wait;)
