Only a week to go, and we are off up the GCR. The van has been pimped to with an inch of its life, so ready for the open roads of WA and NT

Thanks all, really looking forward to it, and yes you are right little sleep thinking about it. All planned out on the Hema maps, but always open for changes.

Where to start with mods?
Here i go:

Anderson plug to car
2x100ah AGM batteries
2x 200watt solar panels
Ctec c250s dual controller
Projecta 7 stage charger
1500 watt pure sin inverter
Low voltage cut off to fridge
Amp / volt meters for solar panels
Isolation switch for batteries and solar panels
Fan in fridge
Cooling fan on external fridge vent on thermostat
Positive pressurised van with 130cfm fan and air filter
3g aerial for internet and phone
Led work light on adjustable pole
Rear camera
Spare wheel moved to back of van
10ltr jerry can and 4.5 gas bottle mounted on new rear bar
2x20ltr jerry can mounted on A frame
Pioneer dvd / usb / cd / radio with internal and external speakers
Engel fridge hard wired 12v and 240 v under dining table
Tv mounted on swing out arm
External tap added to water tanks
Stone protection mud laps under van to protect suspension and plumbing
Stone guard on A frame with large mud flaps
White PVC wet weather screen over front bed
Marine carpet throughout

Mmmmmmm i think thats it, not bad for only 6 months old van.

Sorry all, still trying to learn how to post pics etc on here. We had a great trip and nothing fell off the van which was good. Some of 1200 km of dirt was good, some so just rocks.

Slowly getting the hang of it Well this was the start of the Great Central Road, only 1200km ahead of us.

This was the smooth part, nice and red and bull dust, but NO rocks, the rocks did claim a new tyre [only 1000km on it] was not happy, but that's all that happened so not that bad.

Believe me the dust got in every were, well on the out side anyway, not to bad in side after all I did positively the inside was not to pressure the van with a fan and air filter, thanks heavens for that.

Nothing like free camping, the space, the views and just being out in the open and free. Not to mention our dog loved just being able to run and all the new smells of Kangaroo poo etc

Filling up at Tjukayirla Roadhouse after getting a tyre fixed and stayed the night. All the pumps are in locked cages.
