Wondering if anyone has recommendations for tyres in Sydney / QLD?

Looking to get a set of Bridgestone D697 in the not to distant future but wondering if anyone can advise on price?

I would like coopers etc but they just don't make a 255 65 17 LT tyre so its either Maxis or Bridgestone and a this point I think I will go the Bridgestones.

Cheers all!

I've got Bridgestone 697's on the Paj, been on just over 12 mths now and very happy with, think from memory they were
$305 each for the 17's on the Paj, I couldn't justify the extra cost for the Coopers, as much as I liked them after running 2 sets on the old Pathie and getting 90,000+ks.
ThePaj came fitted with Bridgestone 694's over 90,000 on those also, so was on easy choice to go with the 697's when the time came.

My mate has Hancook DynaPro AT-M's on his Paj and getting a good run from them, much cheaper when he got them at $220 a pop. for 17's

My Panda is running a Hancook 15 as a spare at moment after shedding on factory tyre on the return from the Vic meet last year

Run the D697 on the Crusier, 10k on pretty happy with them. They don't hold the small stones like the BFGs did, the Tarmac manners are also good.

Thanks Bushy for the kind offer!

I just got a quote for $294 a tyre just going to play a couple of places of this price so should get them for about $290 ish.

What do you think of the 697's?

EDIT: Just got a set of the D697's for a$290 a corner fitment on Saturday morning, the off to a PROPER alignment shop for a full aligment and camber adjustment if needed.

Cheers for all the advice thus far!

On a side note, I went for the Bridgestone because they make them in the 255/65/17 Light Truck spec the Pathy requires.

I have a bit bigger spec tyres on right now and the fuel consumption increase was noticeable so want to remain as stock as possible.

Also the D697's have been getting a fairly good wrap.

I would have gone Coppers or BF but they do not do a 255/65 LT tyre at all....

from my experience, anything other than coopers. I put 18' coopers on my ranger wildtrack and have had 3 flats in under 10000 ks with one at broken hill needing replacing at $407. I got a 2cm split between lugs with a bit of broken wire visible in hole. throw away job with less than 10000 ks on it.ouch. Next set of tyres will be on down sized rims which gives me a lot more choice for a lot less money. Don't believe in the warranty they offer, near impossible to meet there requirements. When getting 3rd puncture plugged, the trye shop said everyone goes for coopers.....once, then change to something else, unfortunately they forgot to tell me this when I purchased mine. Just my experience, Barney.

Opposite for me Barney I have had coopers on the last 3 vehicles I have owned and have nothing but praise for them

2nd set of coopers on the prado, have done about 71,000k's on these AT3's and plenty of tread left, not one problem with them at all. Have even been lazy and not gotten a wheel alignment for the last 40,000k and they are still not wearing excessively (rotate every 10k though). Still got about 1/3 left on them so should be good for another 30,000 I reckon
Lots of highway, a fair bit of off road, some rough off road and they still feel real good in the wet too. Am very happy with them.
