Hi all,

First post.

Have spent the last week looking at SH Expandas 17.56.2 which tare around 2145 kg. I'm running a 2013 2.5 diesel Triton dual cab AUTO. I know that the transmissions are not the strongest so has anyone any thoughts on the suitability of the vehicle to do the job? Anyone already doing it?

I'd appreciate any comments you might have. Great vans BTW.

cheers

Welcome to the forum @Tiger800.
I towed my 14.44 outback with a 2013 MN manual Triton.
Did the job no problem at all. Found with the manual that I had to ride the clutch on steep hill starts.
Fuel economy was not the best whilst towing and turbo lag was a killer.
Even though these Utes are rated to tow over 3000kgs I think around 2.5t would be the limit.
@17triton would be the man to speak to. Tows a van around that weight with a very tidy MN.
Hope this helps and good luck with the Expanda.

Thanks Phil, yep, I've done a bit of towing with the Triton and it gets by ok but they dropped the HP of the motor for the autos due to some weaknesses, so I think this might be the Achilles Heel for me. Hmmm, time to look at 150 Prados I reckon.

I tow my 17-56-2 with my triton. I have a 2014 manual. Yes the fuel economy is not the best while towing but I don't have an issue.
