Hello All,

Well we are still going back and forwards if we get a bigger van.
Our list is 4 separate beds for kids, island bed and ensuite under 22-23" smaller the better. Of course nothing around with a floor plan although many had ideas and I have some crazy ones as well :)

I like and always liked the Basestation, 4 bunks and a door :) although Sarah does not want a Expanda bed. I am still hinting :)
At the moment the two eldest get up on the L share bunks in the 17.58 to escape from rampaging twins and have some alone time..
With a triple bunk van no way they can sit up and seemed funny even getting into bunk 2 and 3 :)

So how do you guys with triple bunk vans go with the kids?

Our kids love the bunks. We have found that the top one is the hardest to get into. We originally had the oldest (10 yrs) in it but he has now swapped with the more agile 7yr old and everyone is happy.
The kids can't sit up but they don't really need/want to. We are happy.

I've got three girls 10, 8 & 8 (twins)
The twins share the rear Expanda bed and the older one has the top bunk in our 17.56-2.
The twins are usually so exhausted after a day's camping activites that they crash without too much mucking around.
The backup plan is to set the bottom bunk up as a bed rather than the small dinette, and separate the twins.

We used to have a triple bunk van before we bought the Expanda.
When we bought it my kids were 10 (girl), 7 & 4 (boys).

My daughter was (is) quite tall and watching her try and climb into the middle bunk was sheer entertainment (she hated it).
The 4yo was on the top and the 7yo was on the bottom (which was essentially the floor, and again, he hated climbing into it from the floor).
We only had that van 2 years before we got the Expanda. Now my daughter has the back double bed and the boys have a bunk each.
Works for us.
A 17.56-2 Expanda will sleep you all, have a shower/toilet, not be 22-23 feet long (storing a 22-23ft van as opposed to a 17ft van is easier, as well as towing the thing).
Only down side is you will still have an Expanda front bed for the 2 of you.

Thanks @Matty4 yes why I think the Basestation.
I had fun watching my 8 year old who's around 130cm get in to the triple bunk. He did all three and though middle was better
was one of the many reasons we went with the Basestation, but at the time it was one of, if not the biggest in the fleet, it was a bit daunting. But now you have the 21ft Expanda's out there, its an easy choice, and I would probably go it again if I had to.
Push Bikes? No worries
Motor Bikes? No worries
Chairs tables etc? No worries
Washing Machine? No Worries
Kayaks? No worries
AND NOW
Jet Ski? Yahoo! No Worries!!!

I'm trying.. There are two that caught my eye $45k each localish.. Also a Work n Play $40k.. so hopefully won't be too far out of pocket swapping. Might see anywhere we can hire one.. When we hired the Expanda was a cold windy weekend
