Trip to Airlie beach or similar..

ok our first week away. My plans was the big 4 adventure park at Airlie beach but it's booked out for Easter.
Any other Easter break suggestions ? Kid friendly parks, area with stuff to see and explore. I like the Mackay park but not sure if there's anything else around?

All suggestions welcome for a trip for a week from North brisbane

I think pretty much everywhere will be packed! You can try a last minute cancellation at Conway Beach or Cape Hillsborugh, both pretty good. I'm going to squeeze in over at Theressa creek dam for Easter.

Agnes Water. First point. Probably booked out.
1770. Beachfront is the best.
Mudjimba Beach Close, quiet nice - take your bikes. Ride to pizza and a great milkshake up near Marcoola.
Elliot heads near Bundaberg.
Yepoon.
Or go inland - Cania Gorge lovely this time of year.
Do a dinosaur circuit out to Winton and Longreach. Again good time of year. Dinosaurs etc.

Bowen is spectacular, and just up the road from Airlie. Bowen is a lot more family friendly and has great beaches / walks. Historic town to explore, golf club, kids water park, lots on offer. Also many caravan parks. It is a great favourite of ours. Best location is Horseshoe Bay, but if you want a quiet place, the Wangaratta is a great place.
