I'm planning a trip starting in mid October from Newcastle to Adelaide likely via the south coast, Lakes Way and along the Great Ocean Road and would be interested in readers suggestions for caravan park stops (ideally pet friendly) along the way. I'm also really interested in a good way to get around or through Melbourne. For the return trip, looking at doing a loop from Adelaide via Broken Hill back to Newcastle. Have left a post on a thread from Big Swag about a similar trip he's done but had no reply to date.
Thanks in advance.

Dolphin Point, just south of Ulladulla.

Malacoota , Shire park

Lakes Entrance, first on your left , beachside of highway.

Anglesea, first left as you hit town.

Marengo, 2 km past Apollo Bay, very good dog beach.

Port Fairy, 2 good Pet friendly parks.

All of these are Pet friendly, buy Holidaying with Dogs, worth the coin.

If you google city link and pay the toll for the south eastern freeway, you will go straight through Melbourne and down Geelong with out a traffic light, can go the ring road around Geelong to and go straight to Anglesea at the start of the Great Ocean Road

Thanks @crustt. Brilliant!! Just the type of info I was hoping for. I've just ordered a Camps 7 book; will look for Holidaying with Dogs.

Oh yeah, one I forgot which is our favourite down on the Bass coast, south east of Melbourne. Kilcunda, Ocean front powered sites , dog friendly and across the road from a great pub and general store.
