Hi guys, I've got a daul cab colorado which has no tie down points (worth using) so here's my problem. I've been trying to think of a way to go on holidays with the panda and my motorbike. It will fit if I put it in diagonally and have tailgate down but I need a way of tieing it down. Was thinking of some kind of frame that can bolt to tub and have tie down points on it with tracks for the wheels. Would also need it to to fold it back into tub so can close tailgate when bike is off. Hope that made sense. Thought might have some dirt bike riders on here with some ideas.Any ideas? But my biggest problem is getting past my better half.

http://www.hitchmate.com.au/ installed on the back of the van? (scarey bad and strengthen chassis)
extended draw bar and bike loaded on that (heavy on the tow ball)
Toy hauler instead of expanda
a customised carrier <here>

seriously tho, the only option I'd recommend is install tie down points in the Colorado. While the frame could work too, by the time you bolt that to the tub so it doesn't bounce or slide at all, secured tie downs would've been just as easy.
Ironman do one of those plastic tub liner things with tie downs already installed...
Uneek also do bed extenders to help carry the bike

I use the factory tie down hooks in the BT that are rated to 400kg. They are bolted to the tub and there is 6 in total, sorry I don't have a close up pick though.

I'm not sure what the Colorado has though does the manual mention anything about the tie down load rating?

Another trick I do when taking the dirtbikes and Expanda is hook the van on then jack knife the BT and Expanda and wheel the bikes in. That way your not hooking the Expanda on with the tailgate down. :)

Here is a few pics, all pre suspension lift on the BT.

And the tailgate still clears my stone guard which I was very happy about

Great looking camp set up there. Colorado is crap for tieing anything down so will have to put my own points in to suit bike angle as well. Thanks for the jack knife tip didnt even think about that. Wife wont let me have two toys so i choose to have the road bike which is a triumph daytona 675,love it. Going to port stephens at chrissy so thought i could have gone for some great morning rides in the hills and be back by 10am to spend time with the family, everyones a winner.Maybe get it ready for next trip. Where abouts in the valley are you. I grew up in Woori.

Nice bike mate what year? I'm still into sports bike at moment but I'm keen on getting a grouse cruiser like yours one day or even a bonneville.
