Tow Secure uses a 12v 7ah (or 7.2ah) SLA backup battery and mine just died after 4 years. This a very common battery... even my house alarm uses one

Tow Secure 'Genuine' $50 - $90 (expensive sticker!)
Jaycar $35
Ebay $25 delivered

Same sort of thing for a Breakaway but its a common enough battery, thankfully mine was dead due to charging problem, mine would be over 5 years old but responded to a good bench charge and now is on full time trickle.

Duh, I didn't think to try an external charger
When I went from the Colorado to the Jeep the 7 pin charge wire for it was on the reverse lead which I found when the battery went flat and wouldn't respond when I ran the onboard charger so threw it on the bench job and that got it going, now it is charged full time from van.

I replaced mine (after 5 years) with a $25 ebay one a year ago, works great. My van came with a 240V barrel plug cable that plugs into the breakaway battery box to charge it when parked up.
