Hey All,

In planning for our van i was going to get a box for the drawbar. Looking through this site, there were some great pictures & dimensions of a custom box made from the Toolbox company. The lid opened up with the bed down.

I have used the seach tool for 20 odd mins and nothing. I am pretty sure it was a link within a thread. Can anyone help? It is exactly what i was thinking of making and it is a good start for dimensions given i do not have mine to measure yet.

I hate clogging up threads with a request like this, but i am now being a little un preductive at woek now...

Tim

You're very patient Tim! Don't you hate it when you've seen the thread before and know it exists, but when you need it......

Not sure which one you found, but here is my toolbox that opens with bed down.

Hey Brad,

It was indead your thread i was looking for. I found it via a link in someone elses question. What you have done is exactly what i was thinking of doing. That or put the bottles in the box and making the whole front tip foward. But i think i might go away from that now. Need to go vist Jayco with a tape i think.

Cruza mate, i certinally will. I have all my solar / batterys / TV & brackets etc all waiting to go. Been slowly purchaseing them. My spare room is becoming quite full. All in prep to cut sick when the van turns up.

Can anybody help me please, I'm looking for a thread with a toolbox that incorporates a gas bottle holder at each end, I've been searching all day without luck. The one I'm after has aluminium checker that curves around the bottles, the base has been extended and it has been mounted onto marine ply.

Thanks in advance.

@gwadir here is mine, it's in "my jayco" under brad & donnas 18.57.6. http://www.expandasdownunder.com/threads/brad-donnas-18-57-6-ob.4100/

I might be a bit biased but this design works a treat

Cheers

Hi all.

Wish I had found this forum before I purchased my 17.56.2OB. I pick it up tomorrow and realise I have less storage space than I would like. Unfortunately I have the standard drawbar and wondering what the options are for storing my Honda eu20i generator and tools etc securely outside the van. Can I fit a decent tool lock box or are my options limited? I also have a weber Q (not babyQ) so it is going to be tight.

Thanks to all for the many great tips on this forum.

@Dooku, The standard drawbar is a bit tight. But there are many that have done some things that can help. I know @AndrewC has made a front box that did both Genny & Webber, with out moving the gas bottles. he also recenlty did a rear bar for his genny for eaiser access. I went the longer drawbar so i could do a large box.

You will need to reloate your spare to the rear as most do, or under as i did.

@JASA, also did a good one on a standard drawbar with gas bottles in it. http://www.expandasdownunder.com/threads/tool-box-for-front-of-expand.4217/#post-60370

Good luck, there are loads of options on here.

Pending what's happening with my sale and a new van this box might be made available. Or you can certainly contact ATtard sheet metal for another one. Do need to relocate gas bottles though.
