Toilet option... Am I crazy?

We have a 14.44-4 with bunks. Recently purchased a portable thetford toilet which resides in a double ensuit tent with the outside shower.

I have been thinking is it possible to mod the robe area, remove the shelves and centre divide to create enough room to put the loo on a slider to slide out of the robe area. Maybe box it in somehow so it's not seen when not in use. Even add back a couple of shelves on top to just bottom half is taken over.

Won't be too private but better than braving the cold in the middle of the night if nature calls. Don't know if this is crazy or not? Thoughts...

With the right care it would be a great mod, need a good plan, look online first to see if an external hatch is the right size and go from there....

Go for it! A lot of older vans had the porta porti simply slide out from the foot of an island double bed.

You don't want to be carrying it thru the van to the outside though....trust me, it's fraught with danger.

Yes never thought of that.

There is plenty of room in the robe but just realised it sits off the ground a bit. I'm sure there would be a way around this with a slider that extends out then drop to the floor but will have to do a little more research.

Good to see I'm not as crazy as I thought I was with a couple of positive comments. The little 14.44 would be near perfect with a inside toilet!

I think the decision has been made just to cart in the porta loo before bed and take it back out to the ensuit tent in the morning. After thinking about it more and more swmbo doesn't want to lose the robe area.

So that's that. :yield: Easy come easy go

More than likely a wise choice, on a cold night with the windows all closed...............eh!...............or it's wet, cold and dark and someone forgot to "Bury the dead " when it was daylight and warmer.................................aarrgghh.

Wise choice................................
