Just spent a week in my new disco, everything worked well, used the toilet shower, hot water on eclectricity/gas, thought I might of got lucky and not find any issues.....then a chip came out of my kitchen bench top, someone got a bit excited with the power drill and put the screw in too far, so new bench top it will be. I thought the fridge could have performed a bit better than it did, it wasnt as good as the one that was in my Hawk.

I was thinking that the fridge wasnt getting cold enough, the freezer worked fine, kept the meat frozen solid all week, but the fridge part I wasnt completely happy with, my wife thought it was the same as the Hawk, I didnt, so we decided to see how it goes on the next trip, we where staying north of grafton so it was pretty hot and humid. I took the top vent out, it all looked installed properly and I left it off for the day didnt make any difference, I think Ill put a fan in there. I did all the other stuff, level ect. The drinks werent cold enough for me. I really like drinking beer, water, softies that have been sitting on ice all day, so seeing that I have freed up my boot and put it all in the disco ill stick my esky in and buy ice for my drinks.

Maccayak,

The dunny door went really well, I sat on 90 and got 15/100 on the f3 and then 18/100 port macquarie to the Clarence Valley. On the way home it was the same fuel consumption, but from brooklyn to hornsby it got a little hot (it was a million degrees outside though), and when I was on the home stretch up the blue mountains it got really hot. I spoke to my mechanic before I left and thought we would see how it went before the beefed up cooling on the trany and that, so that will be done before the next trip, which is cheaper than a new car I suppose.

I was super impressed with the disco layout, and happy that I didnt find too much wrong.

I thought the van was sitting slightly to the rear after I put the WDH on, so I might drop it down one hole on the hitch and have a look at it. Is it even possible to tilt it slightly backwards after you put your WDH on? Or was it my imagination?

And heres a tip, dont sleep on your remote control!!

It was going well, then I went shopping and put some semi cold stuff in and it seemed to take 24 hours to recover with the food in it, the meat froze solid well before the rest caught up or didn't, my wife said if I checked the temp on the fridge again she would put me in it, so we agreed to see how it goes:scared:

I have heard a good tip is to put in a couple frozen plastic coke bottles in before you go, then take them out when you arrive. Dont expect too much out of an absorption fridge, it is just good old fashioned simple technology.

I love the fact I can get cold beer out of a fridge than is burning a flame!
