I might as well make the most of it, after all learner drivers need experience in all sorts of driving situations , including instructions on towing the panda from Mum while Dad has a nana nap in the back .

Yeah @cruza driver great Idea, better than when I did mine, 3 months on L's at a max of 72kmh and then given a licence and thrown in the deep end. I did make a phone call to licensing to make sure and all OK. The young fella has been on his L's for 7 months now (5 to go) and has passed his prac test so thought I'd let him have a drive, he did a great job.

When I had my L plates there was no speed limit and no points, they lasted for 3 months, after having them renewed 16 times I received a letter saying I had to go for a licence so I sold my bike bought a car and went for my P's, after 12 months sold the car and went back to bikes, I just new I couldn't keep my P's on a bike lol

Good idea and great to see, just tell him to keep his thumbs along the wheel rim not around it, one day his thumb could get whacked or broken.

Also agree. Teach them the right way from the start with someone experienced beside them.
Slightly off topic we just came back from Central coast NSW along the Hume and come on NSW what a joke. Sitting on 110 and then to come up on a learner limited to 90k's this is crazy. As for the towing teach them in the same conditions that they will face when by them self's.

If This site is correct their L drivers are limited to 80k. God knows how the poor sods manage to merge safely onto a 110 kph motorway in peak period. Their p drivers are limited to 90k and can't tow more than 250kg. seems lots of cotton wool in use down there.

Yeah it's crazy, L 80, Red P 90, Green P 100 in NSW.

We should be allowed to teach
Them how to tow

L at 80 drove us nuts we sit around 100 and your not getting past them easily once your stuck :(
Also you come up over a hill and there they are doing 70 :(

Not to mention having to sit beside them for 120 hours at 80ks on a 110 freeway.

Thankful I only have 2 kids and both of them have their licence now :)
