So they call this insulation
This is how most vans are insulated depending on construction type

Big Mal, a Coromal has a flash badge on the side proudly proclaiming Fully Insulated, so when I pulled the 2 roof hatches off and some other side panels I was hard pressed to find any, I know it's there but more like 50% insulated and then with styro.................

Mine has the same flash badge and knowing it came from the same place as the one in the picture I can only imagine the lack of insulation in the walls

Couple of scientific principles at work here.

With beef, 100% includes lips, hoofs and ar$eholes, so "100%" of "fully" anything may not alway be what you presume.

My work Thermos is insulated with vacant space .... youve just leaked out all the vacuum

Jurgens manage it by putting most electrical and gas through the floor or interior. The panel they use is similar to cool room panels.

You can't insulate up close to electrical cable. It makes the cable run hot and can cause fires.

a Coromal has a flash badge on the side proudly proclaiming Fully Insulated,

for what its worth, it isn't falsely stated - it just doesn't say the level of insulation.;)
I deal with thermal efficiency of building - ie I specify the minimum levels of insulation and double glazing and what not in new construction.

As a guide, a house stud wall is 90mm thick and will have R2.0 or R2.5 polyester batts. Your ceiling traditionally has around R2.0 to R2.5 also, newer houses will have more.

Lets say [edit: pretend] that polystyrene is 50mm thick - thats R1.5 (actually has a better value [per mm] than pink/gold batts we have in the ceilings)
Where there is none and encased inside and outside, then thats R0.17
The inside microscopic surface is R0.12, the outside microscopic surface is R0.03
The 5mm plywood is R0.035
The 0.5mm steel outer is R0.00001 (R0.0000025 if aluminium)
Polycarb windows at 2mm thick will be R0.01.

see everything has an insulation value therefore it is fully insulated...to at least R0.355 . :bolt:

Bahahahahahahahhahahhahahhaha @straydingo , you techo people crack me up but you have it all covered, to sum up the sun hits outside wall, inside wall gets flamin hot....................PS...Big Mal doesn't have techo polyDooDah windows just glass, the styro is more like 20mm and the ply 3mm.......................

I really liked and found your details most informative especially the R0.00001, I think I may get my fancy stylis out and write the R0.355 next to the label.........

no PolyDooDah.....ahhhh flash upmarket stuff there....in that case:
3mm glass = R0.17....much much betterer than polydoodah!!

but alas you couldn't write R0.355 on it, cos we're talking "fully insulated" and the floor is only 19mm ply (R0.13ish) and the roof...? who the hell knows!
so writing R0.355 might be deceptively misleading and confuse someone. And we wouldn't want that would we?:behindsofa:

You are really funny you know "and the floor is only 19mm ply" never seen a Jayco floor that thick, I could screw your shoe to the floor from underneath with a 15mm scew.....try 12mm !!!!..............then again my floor has been sprayed , well most of it underneath with underbody paint and youv'e convinced me now to add the extra information.......
so writing R0.355 might be deceptively misleading and confuse someone.

I'm right into confusion.....
