Hahahaha yes @Pace i have that problem too.

Tell ya what @jim74 come and do mine for me and i'll supply you with beers and i can also learn the finer points of balancing a stubby ;)

Here you go. Scroll down for the first picture.
Same setup I applied over 5 years ago.
Gravity does most of the work and the tie down straps you can see just keep it in place.
It travelled probably in excess of 10,000 km in this location with no drama. I cut 5cm wide rubber matting (kept loose, not glued) for it to sit on and dropped a couple pieces over the top to keep from running on the underside of the bed.

Gravity at the moment but as twscoot did I will place some rubber in there to help hold it. Unfortunately I had to remove the xxxx to close the lid

I never thought of putting stuff behind the lids, kids boogie boards already loaded behind rear door, the same table will be behind front lid after trip to bunnings to get some tie down brackets, then away for the long weekend with some extra space in the van

We were packing up the other day from Warrnambool and I had someone come up to me and give me the biggest thanks for the idea while watching me place our stuff under the front lid too, told them I have been doing it since I had the van. Pace.
