Hi all,

My mate asked me if I could fix his step that seemed to be giving way during his Xmas holiday in the van. It's a 2009 model and they evidently mount the step different now to how they did before, good reason too I'd say, what I found was the steel was tearing along the folded sections as you can see in the pics, someone had a go of fixing it before. I cut the tops completely off and welded on some angle.....just something to be aware of if you have an earlier model jayco!

Hey @Burnsy, a bit off topic for this post, but what do you use to match the colour of the chassis. Is it a silver gal or just normal spray paint over the top of cold gal? Cheers.

Thanks Burnsy....your workmanship is 1st class. This is my step that has been repaired. Lucky it didn't let go, but I have to admit it did feel like a diving springboard in the end... After 3 trips since the repair it is still solid as a rock!
