Hi all, so today I moved across just a little more to a full caravan & got myself a 2015 Jayco Starcraft 17:58-3 Outback
I was looking for something that
- fitted 2 adults & 3 kids
- quick setup & packup
- ability to access all of inside quickly
- still retain some off-road ability
- will allow my wife and 5 year old daughter some "creature comforts" while free camping
After looking at many options over the past 6 months this ticked most boxes.
It comes with
. Bunks
. Jtech independent suspension
. 120w solar panel
. Rooftop heater/aircon
. Shower/toilet
. 150ltr 3 way fridge
. External shower with hot & cold water
. 2x 82ltr water tanks
. 100 ah battery
. 2x 9kg gas bottle
. External water tap on drawbar
. Gas bayonet for BBQ
. Windup roof antenna
. 2x bike rack on rear

Looks nice @swannie congrats, you will have a quicker set up time now then you had with the Swan and better protection form the weather.

We upgraded from a soft floor to an Expanda for these reasons about 18 months ago and we have never looked back.

Mate it's got pretty much everything we need right now, bought a new Weber today for it!
Will be installing the truma gas heater shortly then need to get an annex made for our Xmas holidays. Might also add a second battery & water level gauge

Today I had a look through it and found s few things needing repair.
1. The curtail rails on bunks had a heap of broken plastic clips, I grabbed a heap of picture frame metal hooks, threaded it through & works a treat plus stronger

First real upgrade was removing the ball hitch and installing a Mchitch auto coupler. Had one on the Swan and loved it!

Welcome to the Starcraft Club! Awesome you got your van just before Easter. We are having to slum it in 5 star luxury this Easter while we anxiously await the delivery of our van in June. Hard life but someone has to do it ;-)

Enjoy the five star while you can....poverty is on the horizon with a new van.

But you will be able to get away more often for the money.

Ripper man well done, great timing . You'll love the heater ,even just to circulate the air with only fan on.

Hi Swannie...my daughters and I live in our Starcraft 17.56.3 and I've been looking at awnings and prices. Decided to get a bulbar for the MUX instead but now that I've seen your post you've planted the idea again. I think from memory I was up for a couple of thousand dollars. Is that close?
