We're about to head off on our first adventure and were wondering what is the best way to stack a fridge when travelling to stop things moving around?

We fill it as much as we can so stuff dos'nt move around , and if there's gaps we jam whatevever we can find in there , and also use stubby holders to stop glass bottles clashing,

Step one. Fill with beer.
Step two. Fill any small gaps with food to stop beer from moving around.:)

No seriously, we use Tupperware containers wherever possible . As they are square (or rectangle) and stack nicely.
Also as a tip, make sure anything you put into the fridge is already cold. Caravan fridges take a while to bring warm food down in temp.

Same as above for us, though we like to remove all the packaging from the items where we can so we can manoeuvre (squash), things in. The fridge stays cold better too pack to brim.

Oh, be sure to locate the fridge door latch for travelling, then things wont be on the floor when open up the van, speaking from experience there :barbershop_quartet_member: Pace.

Only thing we ever give much thought to is frozen stuff which we bought one of those vacpac thingo's to make sure it takes up as little space as possible in the freezer but as @Soaring said make sure the beer fits ;) Ooh and keep the lettuce off the fins at the back of the fridge

Most times we don`t have much, just fill a shelf and in the door and we go and do a big shop after we get set up. Oh and the beer is in the Engle nice and cold!

Hi AddItUp we pack the fridge 1/2 hr before we go and everything is straight out of house fridge into van fridge and it really acts just like a big cooler and if the drive is 3 hrs or so it all stays nice and cold :)

Haha @Soaring It will be interesting to see how much beer we can fit in the fridge. But I have a funny feeling Mrs AdditUp will want to bring along a little food. :)
I like the idea of Tupperware and we'll make sure it's nice and cold first.

Old mate at Ryans Caravans said that 2l ice cream containers are perfect for the freezer, said he fills them full of suasages and steaks etc and the 150l fits two nicely... Apparently? Havnt tried it yet. Our freezer is chockers with zooper doopers!

I saw some fridge drawers/containers at Big W the other day - they are basically the same as the hard plastic vege drawers you get in house fridges. I'm sure they were quite cheap. They were near the plastic containers and lunch boxes.

Mrs XF discovered years ago that you save "take away" containers and freeze meat etc., in them then in labelled freezer bags. The frozen blocks are then stacked in like books on a bookshelf.

Good idea @Xpandafan We usually forget to label things in the freezer at home and it turns into a bit of a lucky dip. ;)
