G'Day all,

I am new to the forum, I was put onto it by a couple of other members who frequent another forum I hang around in. As my forum name suggests

Today my wife and I placed our order for our Jayco Expanda 16.49-1OB.

We have slowly made our way towards using a "caravan" having started with a rugged "All Terrain" brand Camper Trailer, then progressing to a Jayco Swan OB in 2009. I never thought I would have a caravan but I am mighty pleased with my purchase.

We have done a bit of change in the layout of the Expanda in that we will have the l-shape lounge however, instead of the second lounge we are having the TV cabinet. As this is a long term purchase for us we have decided to go with a fair few extras so it will have everything we want and more.

So now the wait begins with delivery expected in May. This at least gives us the opportunity to have one last trip in our Swan which will be for Easter.

I know there has been a bit of negativity around the local Jayco Dealer in another thread but we have had great experiences with them and the salesman I am dealing with at present is straight down the line, no bullshit in him and very helpful.

Anyway I am sure that I will have plenty of questions and look forward to sharing my experiences with the people on the "Expanda Down Under" Forum.

Regards

Marc (aka as Newcastle Knight)

Hi Marc
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the order. Many of us have been like you upgrading from one to the next to the next - its the natural order of life :D:
Enjoy, ask the questions, and we look forward to hearing your experiences also.

Welcome across Marc. Followed your posts a bit on Myswag when i had my Hawk.

Congrats on the new van. I can very much relate to not planning on owning a caravan this early in life. But now i have one i can't believe i didn't get one earlier. We love the lifestyle and convenience of this type caravan. Enjoy.

Welcome Marc...I plan on skipping the jayco camper trailer stage, might as well go direct to go and collect $200.
Now you have to get used to double posting on 2 forums

Welcome aboard Marc, Glad to see you finally found us.

I like the idea of still having the lounge but with the Buffet cupboard in lieu of the extra seat, there is one thing I miss with the Swan was all that internal seating when you are forced indoors.

We bought our Eagle in 2010 and our Expand in 2011 from Jayco Newcastle and found them great and have not had any issues with them. The Eagle had a stuff up at rego time, but we where not inconvenienced by it as they where happy to help and accommodate.

Glad to see another superior 16 footer join the ranks :)
