We have our van parked in the front lawn of our yard with the van cover over the van.

We have had to put the cover on twice which was quite painfull.

Any suggestions to make this task easier?

Is it safe to stand on the roof?

Kind regards...

I use two tentpoles to put on our cover like the video below:

But i do want to know if you can get on the roof without causing damage??

p.s Can't beleive nobody replied to this for over a year :twitch:

This post was before my time on here, but I wouldn't put my weight on roof unless I had a plank spanning across roof! As bigman said we use poles to pull cover over.

I roll it up into a long sausage, put it onto the top of the van and then start pulling it off over the sides slowly but surely - trying to put it on from one side is to hard because you are fighting against the weight of the cover.

Agree...use a plank if you've got space to put one, otherwise use trestles and plank to get to height you can safely work at.
A third pair of hands can be really useful putting cover on. I use a couple of extending paint roller poles and little cable ties to fix eyelets to threaded end (if that makes sense?) so doesn't keep slipping off.

Hi with ours we turn it inside out and roll it up on th ground. And then put it on the roof of our van with a step ladder and roll it out and then its just a matter of wrestling it into correct place on the van. [ its a pain in the ar#@ ]
