Roll out awning spring problem

Hi after fitting the sides to my carefree roll out awning I heard what sounded like a snaping noise an something
quickly unwinding on the left side of the awing after contacting Jayco they told me one of the springs could of snaped.It still winds up but does take some manual help.Just seeing if anyone has changed one of these springs before or has any other ideas.Greg

Is you Expanda still under warranty? If so I'd be taking it back to jayco.

The speed that the awning does retract I'd say the internal spring would be under alot of tension and may be a bit tricky to fix
