First off let me apologise for the lateness getting this up after taking delivery of our new Starcraft late September. I'll be sitting in the naughty corner for a little while :israel:

Like most we've been waiting since March when we placed our order at the caravan show. Got a call from the dealer first week in September saying the van was on the boat heading to the west coast. Had a trip booked over the October school holidays so we decided to cancel it just incase the van wasn't right or there was some delay at the dock or the dealers. Half way through Sept dealer calls us, van arrived - all good - you can take delivery whenever you like.

Told him I'd like to have a look through it first - no problem he says so make an appointment Sat morning to have a sticky beak thinking what have they stuffed up or what's not right with it.

Went down Sat morning with the daughter and was pleasantly surprised. Everything we had asked for was there and could not fault anything inside or outside with the build quality. Was a bit of excess of glue on a couple of the cupboard doors but nothing major. Our salesman to his credit tells me to take my time and leaves me to check everything at my leisure. So after nearly 4 hours of looking, crawling, closing, opening and checking everything could only find a stuffed latch on one of the cupboards. Daughter had fun helping dad with the inspection as well :).

So go back to the office and see the see the sales guy and make an appointment the following Friday to do the handover. In the meantime they will replace the latch, fit the anti flap kit and give it a detail. Must send a shout out to Glenn at Caravanland - could not be more helpful or accommodating.

Here's a couple of pics of the beast at the dealers.

Good to see things went well at inspection and handover..... Any plans for a shakedown trip seeing you had to cancel the Oct trip?

Here's a HINT ;)

Ended up rebooking Ledge Point at the last minute for a few days days over the grand final weekend with a couple of school parents. Van towed well and no problems. Found a couple of doors/drawers weren't latching that well so fixed them at the caravan park.

Only problem we had was this little present outside the door on the annex mat late one night.
I like dogs but NOT their inconsiderate owners

Margaret River sounds good - any excuse to get away.
Our business unit has just gone through a restructure so will have a look how the end of the month is panning out.

That is one reason some places are stopping the people that do the right thing bringing their little furry buddies with them
Be good to see you at Marg's but if not there will be other get togethers :)

Hi @Robbie Reddog congrats on the new van! It looks really good. Very long wait. I thought my wait was bad. I'm told we should get ours on the 1st of dec or there abouts.

Good to see another 17.58-1. Since davemc has moved to greener pastures.

front Bayonet pretty nice did you get front and back or they just moved them forward now. With some sites it made it hard cooking at the rear of the site, when we where down Somers in Jan the rear was against a wooden fence so left BBQ in van.

People who do not pick up there dogie doo doos grrrr.

Thanks. Very happy with it. I think your wait will be worth it. Soooooooo much easier to set up and pack than the Swan.
I have seen davemc has upgraded. Wouldn't mind a island bed and ensuite one day. Maybe the next upgrade I think.

Only got the front bayonet. Comes standard with the outbacks now. As you say sometimes harder in the van parks with the BBQ at the rear. We don't do much freecamping as the Mrs idea of camping is caravan parks.

We had just decided we would not upgrade for a few years so was organising a front tool box and had some ideas for a ensuite tent. Then we had another two trips canceled too cold twins Asthma, we already cabined at Nagambie and did not go out in van since March. Hence the upgrade. The 17 was a nice little van was not a cheap $ upgrade :( You will enjoy it once asleep you do not notice the island bed :)

Those lights are nice and why can't they colour match a black 12v on the checkerplate..or leave it up higher on the white :)
That drawbar is just wanting a toolbox :)

QUOTE="Robbie Reddog, post: 132197, member: 4789"]Couple little things Jayco changed on us.
Don't know the reasoning behind the perforated gas bottle mounts

I'm guessing to reduce weight? Which would be a good idea.
I like the lights. Note sure I'll make use if it but

I agree with the 12v socket. Why not move it 10cm higher and have it blend in with the white paneling. They now colour match the outside speakers into the black checkerplate rather than the white ones so you wouldn't think it be too hard.

Toolbox has been waiting patiently in the shed for the last 3 months waiting to make an appearance. Was in a tool specialist shop a couple of months back getting some sockets and there was a Kincrome gullwing box hiding in the corner. Asked the salesguy how much and said it was display stock and would be happy to let it go for $350 so I pounced on it :). I think i'ts similar / same as one of the other members has on his starcraft

I think I saw those lights in the old " war of the worlds " movie :)

Does look similar ;)

If the blue lights are on don't come knockin!
May have to hang a hat on the door as well

Started doing a couple of little things to the van.

Added a pole carrier to the Aframe

Some covers for the gas bottles

Carpet squares from Bunnings for the floor. They're 500x500 in 'Camel'. Nice to walk on and fit well.
cp1.jpg cp2.jpg

Got a stick on grip for the step. Had one on the swan as well. Makes it a more stable especially when wet.
