Hi all I have had my new tug Ranger Mk2 a week now and read the section on towing and it recommend that you should not put any load on it until you have done 3, 000k's.
So any tradies out there with new rigs how long before you put it under any load.

I threw all my tools straight from the old Navara into the new one. Cant jerk around mollycoddling with a work car ..... i did plan on waiting the 1000km recommended by Nissan before towing the van, but sold the old van and ended up with about 3000km before the new van arrived .... but i probably wouldnt have waiting if circumstances didnt work out that way.

I would probably recommend at least waiting for the 1000km inspection

Just make sure you check the tow bar bolts yourself cause sometimes the apprentice will miss one, in fact after any service check your wheel nuts as well.

We did about 2500 before towing. But only because we didn't have a van at the time.

Car had done 2600 when we picked up van so all ready to go. Haven't stopped since.

Chart rock ....did your van emerge ok from that skid??

With picking up the Paj i towed the boat loaded to the dealership and hooked up behind the Paj and headed off. Mollycoddling for the first few thousand Kay's is old school thinking. Engines today are machined and water blasted clean and deburred to near perfection.

I remember with the race car after a rebuild doing plug drops and oil deposits in the bore were gone by lap 3 (10kms)

Drove from the dealership in Bendigo down to Warrnambool, and pretty much hooked the van up. Would have had a few 100 kays on it. The manual recommends waiting 1500km, but if unavoidable, speed should be kept to 80kph or under. I did that no worries. Hasn't missed a beat since, 14000km on.

Made me have a look in the book and read the same thing @Smergen said, haven't bought a new vehicle since 1982 so never took much notice......................but I suppose makes sense, I think they should say check bolts on tow bar before towing as many are not tightened properly and they flog out the holes before other horrible things happen.
