Hi,
My husband and I + our 3 year old daughter have just purchased our new home for the next 2 years, very excited and happy with our decision to go with the Expanda.
It held up well in the recent cyclone up here. The only problem so far is that when it rains nothing is allowed to touch the canvas walls and not very practical if you have to pack up and leave that day when it's raining! Over all the space for the 3 of us is working out just fine. We will be leaving for Wollongong on the 23rd of this month and was wondering if anyone knows of a weight station near Tweed Heads and if we should invest in getting a, think it is called stabiliser for the caravan to make it more stable while travelling?

Thanks.

G'day Mel and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are off on the big lap with the family. Great idea before the little one has to start school. I think the 'stabiliser' you are talking about might be the Weight Distribution Hitch and it would depend a lot on your tug. Let us know what your tow vehicle is and I'm sure there is a forum member with the same setup who can advise you.

Thanks Chartrock,
Yes we are doing it before she needs to go to school 3 is a great age to do it, she is loving being in the out doors, has become a pro on her little bike now.
We are heading over to WA for our second time, first time we did it with our Oztent, but got sick of taking it on and off the roof tying it all down ect so this time we bought a caravan.
We have a 2005 Holden Rodeo 3Lt Turbo Diesel. We have not towed with it loaded up yet, as we only picked it up 2 weeks ago and came straight to the caravan park down the road. Our stuff was in storage we just put everything in it, so we have know idea how she will go. Hopefully there is some one out there to give us a little advice about the ' weight distribution hitch'. Thanks again

Welcome Mel, what a great adventure ahead of you. We'll follow your travels with interest. Best education for a 3 y.o. I can think of. Old enough to grow into some simple set-up/pack-up chores. Consider a travel blog. If you have an iPod or iPad just have her record each days highlights in her own words and match with your own comments and pics (maybe once a week).
