Hi All.

A group of friends are camping at the 8 mile camp ground along Brocks Road. I have been to Sheepyard Flat camp ground and I know a lot of you have also been there. I dont know if i will be able to get my 17.56-1 outback to this area? I tow with a 2012 Navara D40 4X4 that has been lifted.

Some advice of whether the Expanda can tag along would be most appreciated, I don't really want to take a tent if i can help it.

Thanks in advance.

Vaughan.

This is what I found @Vaughan Reeve 8 Mile Flat and This its a bit conflicting though regarding access for the Expanda.

One thing I did notice was no dogs as its inside the Alpine NP boundary.
I know some of the campgrounds up that end away from Sheepyard have steepish entry access to gain river access.

Tough call I guess and I suppose you cant contact them there either as no phone service up that way.

Hey @cruza driver

I'm heading up on Tuesday morning.
I have sent a message through to one of them as they do get some reception when they head in to town, or climb a decent hill.

All the websites I have read; say that it is 2wd accessible, but they also say the track is steep?
I was hoping someone on here may have been there recently and could give me a definitive answer.
Anyone with some more if would be great.

Cheers.

I'd say the steepness of the entry could be the issue as the road is well above the river as it climbs.

Let us know how you go, I have driven past it countless times but never gone down in there.

It's been a couple of years since I was out that way. The hill just around from Tunnel is a ripper on the return. Very steep and windy. 2 wheel drive? Maybe. With a heavy van? Better not rain. Even 4 wheel drive I would hesitate.
But like I said, it's been a while.
