Well we head off for just over 3 weeks on November the 2nd or 3rd
We plan to Leave Bairnsdale and end up in Airlie Beech and then get back in to for the Vic meet and greet.
Rough plans are
Day 1) Bairnsdale to Sanctuary point NSW,stay at a mates place and catch up:rockon:
Day 2)Sanctuary Point NSW to Boyland, Queensland, Australia, catch up with friends(big day on the road, will have to see how this pans out)
Day 3)Not sure yet,any ideas?? Some where half way between Airle and Boyland
Day4)Airlie Beech

Then spend a few day relaxing and catching up with family untill we take our boat out for a week and cruise the Whitesindays:biggrin::clap2:
This kicks off on the 13th and back in on the 20th

Get off the boat and start making our way back to the Victorian meet and greet on the 23rd at Sheepyard Flat

Still got to get a heap ready
Food
Tools
Tow prepped, service, new tyres, leaking air bag suspension, driving light fitted and a UHF radio
Fishing gear
and a heap more

Let the plans begin

Hi Jd,
Sanctuary Point to Boyland is a very big day mate, and probably the Pacific Highways not a bit of road to be tired on. I reckon if you can afford the day, split that trip. Even if you come up the new england its a big day, probably a bit safer though.
When you leave Boyland, I reckon Rocky is probably the next stop, Long stretch of nothing after that to Mackay. Depends i guess if you are going to free camp or stop at parks. Theres a free camp about an hour north of rocky that looked ok. They normally have a driver reviver there during school hols.
if towing the van you probably wont be going to quick but watch your speed around gin gin and north of Childers, they are red hot around there.

hope that helps.

Yer was going to go up the new england,No stress if we dont make it that night but I reckon we will with out to many hassles(I used to drive from Goldcoast to Bairnsdale in a day,not towing though)
Yer free camp on the way up is the plan.Still have to fit a uhf,was going to have a chat to others with vans and pic there brains for a good spot to stop

Its about 5 hours north of brissy.

And yes the coppers do love Gin Gin and also Gympie. There is also heaps of road works going on around Gympie at the moment which can easily add 2+ hours to your trip.

Airlie Beach is a beautiful spot, how did you loose your bar on WDH? Hope you have drama free travels from here on!

Cheers.

Is it possible the missing bar is sitting at home on the ground?
I just can't imagine a huge chunk of metal falling off your hitch without taking out something else on the way through.

Seems my 9 year old has become addicted to reading this forum and now posting his own comments!!!!!!!!!!
I have just logged on after a few days off and it seems I have made a few comments here and there, apologies to anyone that received an unusual one!!!
He asked if he could go on for a look around as he wanted to find out his own info.
