We are leaving in 2 weeks to visit Ayers Rock and Darwin. As that trip is already planned I'm starting to think about what comes next. We purchased a PX Ranger late last year so have heaps of towing power. We have a Starcraft 16.51.3 Outback caravan with 50mm Alco axle, heavy duty springs, and shockers. Our current trip is over sealed roads.

So with a 4WD Ranger and an Outback I started thinking about a bit more adventure. So I'm wondering how I would go going to Broken Hill, Pack Saddle, Milparinka, Tiboburra, Camerons Corner, Birdsville, and home via Flinders Ranges?

I think Ranger is up to it, but what about Outback? I haver never been out there so have no idea of conditions. I have read a couple of trip reports that say it could be too hard? Alternatively, I could come home thru Noccundra and Thargominda?

I have already rapped most of my pipes in rubber and put split tubing over my electrical cables.

Ideas appreciated.

dont forget to put a light on in the cupboards (at night) and look under neath for gaps - then you can fill them and not get as much dust inside when off road

Good tyres and rock protection, and drive to the conditions.
Just get out there and see it, its a beautiful part of the country.

When we were/have been out there, there have been vans etc that dont sound as prepared as yours doing it so you should be fine.
