Places to stay in Parkes, any ideas?

I'm heading out to Parkes next week for work and thought I'd take the panda for a walk.
Can anyone share there experiences at any of the caravan parks that are available there?

We are taking the boys to see the Dish with panda in tow at the end of June, so would be interested also?
Any good free camping spots also.

We stayed at the one next to sports oval a few years ago on the way to Broken Hill, Council owned I think but onsite live in manager basic but tidy with ensuite sites.

From memory it called Spicer Caravan Park

check out badgers caravan forum , depends which direction you are coming from but there is also a large rest area called lyndabale 16km south of tomingley or 2 km north of peak hill and seen as the dish i think is about 25km north of parkes ie between peak hill and parkes or about 36 km south of peak hill .. need to be self contained gpc 32 41 53s, 148 11 25e

if its just an overnighter also have towed carvan to dish last time was road works and the road narrow in sections but got through ok thats probably why they were working on it , plenty of parking at the dish
